🌲Mohini Ekadashi Vrat Katha 🌲
“O Madhusudan!” said Arjun to Shri Krishna. What is the name of the Vaishakhi month’s Ekadashi of Shukla Paksha, and how does one observe the fast? Tell me everything in detail, please.
“O Arjun!” said Shri Krishna. I tell a myth that Maharishi Vashishtha related to Shri Ramchandraji. I advise you to pay close attention to it. “O best Guru!” remarked Shriq Ramji to Maharishi Vashishtha once. My separation from Jananandini Sitaji has caused me a great deal of suffering; how will I eliminate this pain? Tell me a fast that will erase all of my sins and pains, please.
“Oh Shri Ram!” said Maharishi Vashishtha. It’s a wonderful question that you asked. You have an extremely clear and bright mind. Simply remembering your name purifies a man. In the public interest, you have posed this excellent query. Allow me to quickly explain the significance of one Ekadashi. Mohini Ekadashi is the Ekadashi of Shukla Paksha in the month of Vaishakh. Fasting on this Ekadashi eliminates all of a person’s sins and problems. The man escapes the attachment trap as a result of this fasting. So, O Ram! It is Ekadashi, and a depressed person must fast. Keeping this fast erases all of a person’s sins.
Now pay close attention to its tail. On the banks of the Saraswati River once stood a city called Bhadravati. That city was ruled by a king by the name of Dyutiman. There was a wealthy Vaishya living in the same city. Dhanpal was his name. He was a devoted follower of the Narayana and a deeply pious individual. To make the passengers happy, he planted mango, jamun, neem, and other trees along the roadside and constructed numerous eateries, ponds, wells, Dharamshala, and other structures throughout the city. The oldest of Vaishya’s five sons was particularly wicked and immoral.
He used to hang out with crooks and scumbags. Whenever he had free time, he would gamble. He was a very inferior person who did not believe in ancestors, gods, or anything else. He spent the majority of his father’s money on poor habits. He was accustomed to eating meat and drinking booze. Even after much convincing, his father, brothers, and other family members pushed him out of the house and began to criticize him when he did not change his ways. He began to sell his clothing and valuables to make ends meet after he left home.
The prostitutes and his malevolent associates also abandoned him after his riches were ruined. After experiencing hunger and thirst, he considered stealing and began doing so at night to make ends meet. However, he was caught one day and was freed by the soldiers, who believed he was the son of a prostitute. The soldiers disregarded him when he was apprehended a second time and brought him before the king, who was informed of the entire incident. The king then imprisoned him. On the king’s orders, he was subjected to a great deal of mistreatment in prison before being asked to leave the city. He was depressed and had to leave the city.
He now began slaughtering birds and animals in the forest to fill his belly. Then he turned into a fowler and began using his bow and arrow to murder innocent forest creatures, which he then ate and sold. He once set out to find food while suffering from severe hunger and thirst and arrived at Kautilya Muni’s ashram.
Currently, Vaishakh is the month. After taking a dip in the Ganga, Kautinya Muni arrived. Just by sprinkling his damp garments, this sinner acquired some insight. “O Mahatma!” murmured that humble man, folding his palms as he approached the sage. I’ve sinned a lot over my life. Please provide me with some easy and inexpensive ways to atone for those faults.
“Pay close attention to the Ekadashi of Shukla Paksha in the month of Vaishakh,” the sage said. Mohini is the name of this Ekadashi. You will atone for all of your sins by keeping this fast.
After hearing the sage’s remarks, he got extremely joyful and observed the Mohini Ekadashi fast using the approach he recommended.
Hello, Shri Ram! All of his misdeeds were atoned for by this fast, and he eventually rode Garuda to Vishnuloka. This fast is superior to all others in the world. The virtue of donating a thousand cows is equivalent to the virtue gained from reading and hearing about its grandeur.
Synopsis:
